Col Quaternà

Volcanic rocks among the oldest in the Alps – recognizable by their blackish color with white flint veins – and red sandstones from Val Gardena towards the Monte Croce Pass. Along the way there are also traces of the military posts of the Great War. The summit was reached by John Paul II in July 1987.
