The project in brief
The territory of Val Comelico, which brings together the five municipalities of Comelico Superiore, Danta di Cadore, San Nicolò di Comelico, San Pietro di Cadore and Santo Stefano di Cadore, all classified as inland areas, is engaged in a process of strengthening its tourism offer and governance, with the aim of evolving towards an integrated, sustainable and participatory destination management model.
The project, funded under Action 5.2 of the PR Veneto FESR 2021-2027, accompanies the Unione Montana Comelico and the other key players in the area, in the implementation of the governance bodies of the destination, in the consolidation of the Val Comelico area brand within the DMO Dolomiti Bellunesi and in the enhancement of local production chains in connection with slow & green tourism products.
The creation of this destination website is one of the actions financed, aimed at enhancing the local tourist offer.
The planned activities
The project is divided into four lines of intervention:
- Support to the reference authority — strategic and operational support to the Unione Montana Comelico for the full implementation of the Executive Plan.
- Start-up of governance bodies — activation of the Control Room, thematic tables and training courses to make the new management structure operational.
- Enhancement of local production chains — development of slow & green tourism products connected to the genius loci of the territory, also through the regional DMS.
- Ability to intercept other measures — raising awareness and accompanying operators in accessing calls for tenders and tools to support tourism.
Expected results
- An operational, shared and sustainable tourism governance structure.
- New integrated tourism products, linked to the identity of the territory and usable throughout the year.
- A stable network of collaboration between institutions, tour operators, artisans and local associations.
- A more competitive and authentic positioning of Val Comelico as a slow and green destination.
