Walking through the valley floor, woods and Dolomite environments

Walking is the most classic and traditional way to experience the mountains in Comelico. The network of paths crosses different environments, from valley floors to high-altitude pastures, up to more open Dolomite contexts.

The offer

The offer includes short and accessible routes, but also longer hikes that require more walking.

Refuges and mountain huts represent landmarks along the way and allow you to organize the experience over one or more days.

Alongside the nature trails, the area offers routes with historical and cultural content related to the Great War, the geology of the Dolomites and local traditions.

Everyone can choose their own pace.

Trekking

Comelico offers a varied and articulated trekking experience, with routes that develop between open alpine basins, engraved valleys and Dolomite walls of strong character.

The high-altitude paths allow you to cross large and panoramic environments, often with long stretches above the tree line, where the landscape becomes more essential and continuous.

It is a non-trivial mountain, which requires attention in the choice of the itinerary and a good evaluation of elevation gain, length and weather conditions.

The morphological variety of the area makes the hiking experience interesting but not to be tackled lightly, especially on the most exposed or isolated routes.

Easy walks

Easy walks are the most immediate way to approach the outdoor experience in Comelico. These are generally short routes (under 10 km), with limited differences in height and often a ring development, suitable for those who want to walk without facing technical difficulties.

The itineraries develop in different environments: some connect the villages through paths and secondary roads with little traffic, others follow the valley floor or develop along the river and near the cycle paths, with regular and easily passable routes.

There is no shortage of panoramic routes at high altitude, on natural balconies that allow you to observe the Dolomite landscape with limited physical effort. In areas such as Val Visdende or in other particularly open and sunny areas, the paths lead to refuges and huts that can be reached by accessible walks, ideal for spending a day in nature with relaxed times.
