Horseback riding
On horseback you cross the Val Comelico at a different pace: woods, paths, pastures and peaks with the same slowness as the ancient inhabitants of Comelico.
For those who are beginners, there are riding lessons and simple rides, even with ponies for the little ones. For those with more experience, there are multi-day excursions with stops in refuges and mountain huts, among high-altitude landscapes and local flavors.

Sport fishing
The streams and lakes of Comelico are among the best places in the Dolomites for sport fishing. The geological conformation of the valley – shaped by glaciations, volcanoes and tectonic stresses – has created waterways with a rich and well-preserved ecosystem. Whether you prefer stream or lake fishing, you will find different environments and some surprises here.
Stream fishing
On the Padola stream, Catch and Release is practiced with a rat’s tail: a type of sustainable fishing that respects the trout ecosystem.
The brown trout that populate the Padola are often large and with golden liveries, and attract fishermen from all over Italy and abroad. In the lower stretch of the stream there is also a competitive competition field of about 5 km, where Italian and world champions F.I.P.S.A.S. have competed.
Lake fishing
Lake Sant’Anna, at 1,350 meters set in the spruce forest, is one of the most particular contexts for lake fishing. The lake and the surrounding area are set in 3-million-year-old peat bogs, with exceptional biodiversity.
On the bottom of the lake still lives a specimen of Astacus astacus, a decapod crustacean protected since 1980, probably dating back to the last glaciation, still the subject of university studies.
