The forests managed by the Regole for a thousand years, the organic pastures, the timber cut according to precise plans are not recent initiatives, but the ordinary way in which this valley works. Visiting it responsibly means entering into this logic: enjoying a place that has remained authentic precisely because someone has taken care of it, and doing one’s part to keep it that way. Visiting Comelico responsibly does not require special efforts — it requires attention.

In the forest and in the mountains
Always carry your rubbish with you. Prefer a torch to a fire. Keep your tone of voice low. Do not disturb animals. Keep on the marked trails.
On the move
When you can, use public transportation. If that’s not possible, share your car or reach destinations on foot or by bike. Many points of interest in the valley are accessible without a car.
At the table
Choose restaurants and mountain huts that work with local products. Ask about the origin of the products. Take home something from the area instead of generic souvenirs. Support small local businesses.
With culture and traditions
Comelico has a language, a history and traditions that are still handed down. Attend local events, visit museums, listen to the story. Take home the true knowledge of the place.
